The Definity Systems development team has started the live operation of the system which makes allocation and planning in the Emerson testing labs easier.
The new customized information system called the Lab Management Software was created as a response to the problems with planning in the development department of Emerson Climate Technologies in order to streamline the cooperation between the engineering and testing departments. The system enables creation and automated planning of testing projects which share common resources. The planned projects can be easily viewed in a calendar, which enables to modify and reschedule the projects instantly. The employees taking part in the projects are informed about important changes by means of customizable notifications. The original scope was extended by the storage module, which integrates the logistics processes related to the prototype testing.
The application was designed as a heavy client (installed on Windows) with user-friendly GUI based on the modern tile menu. Apart from the simple authorization be means of predefined user roles, the system also enables to save personal settings (such as filters and list settings) for individual user accounts. These functionalities significantly increase the user efficiency.
