The upcoming worsening economic situation forces companies to think about optimizing their costs. However, effective optimization requires accurate and timely data. The only data available in most companies, though, are their accounting outputs supplemented with data scattered about Excel tables. Companies thus encounter a problem of such information being entirely insufficient for good optimization. There are usually the following basic problems:

  1. The accounting data are already out of date at the moment of processing.
  2. The data are often very rough and their structure does not correspond to the processes that are to be optimized.
  3. Subsequent data processing is very complicated and costly.

The Produktivita (Productivity) system was designed for the monitoring of production costs in the TRW Automotive Company’s production plant. Its main advantage consists in immediate monitoring of production costs at different break down levels – plant, central, production line, individual product, worker. Based on these data, the production process and the appointing of individual workers including background documents for their motivation bonuses can be optimized more accurately and more quickly. Sales networks costs optimization

The BMS system (Business Management Škoda) was implemented for InterScreen, a consulting company providing among others, consulting services for the Škoda Auto sales network. The principle of the system consists in collecting economic data from individual dealers, their evaluation and comparison to average market indicators. Dealers thus obtain a valuable representation of their situation as compared to the market, which can then be used for their strategic decisions on costs optimization.
